Eventually the company realises that in order to continue their growth, this culture needs to change and become one of limitless expansion and shared information and resources.  Only by doing this can the information collected over time be put to best use, and you can't achieve this with localised, disconnected data storage.

The process

Starting with the planning stage, DCSL architects delve deep to understand the nuances of your business and how it operates on a day-to-day basis.  This often leads to members of staff highlighting areas of the workflow process that they feel could be improved.

We take this on board, listening to the management team and your users, adding our own suggestions as we go.  We then articulate this in writing along with a prototype of a new system that will consolidate everything into one central system.  This prototyping exercise helps you visualise how the system will look and feel, even at this early design stage.

Once the design stage is approved, your application is developed by our in-house team of senior software developers. We combine the very best technical platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC and Web Services, HTML5, and with our Rapid Application Development methodology to deliver software quickly.

We will be demonstrating your application as we go until it is released and in operation.  It will be tailored specifically to match your unique process, unlike off-the-shelf packaged software that limits you to its industry standard, vanilla offering.  You choose the information you store and how you use that to satisfy your clients' needs.

Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust

The Qpoint Blood Glocuse Monitoring service is a QA scheme run by the Point of Care team.  Each month, around 5,000 healthcare professionals and patients are sent glucose samples with which to test their glucose meters.  The readings are submitted into the Qpoint system, which runs a complex algorithm to identify any meters that may not be working correctly.

This is a large back-office system that runs a data management process that cycles monthly.  The system provides a suite of functions to manage people, groups, meters and readings, making it simple for the administration team to run the scheme.


Amicable Building Assistance

The team at Amicable Building Assistance approached DCSL Software to help consolidate their data management into a single online system that would be accessed by their offices in Leeds and Epsom.  We have worked extensively to review their existing processes and improve upon them to streamline the way jobs are processed, providing both business and technical solutions.  This in turn increases their success rate when working to tight SLA timeframes.


Scottish Huntington's Association

The Glasgow based charity approached DCSL Software in 2009 to develop an online database application to help run their service.  Having grappled with paper-based and fragmented software tools in the past, including Excel and Outlook, the organisation was keen to consolidate their data management into a single application that would help support the service provided by their team of healthcare professionals.

Within 24 hours of first contact, our representatives were sitting with the SHA operations director discussing the merits of investing in a system that would revolutionise the way the organisation works.  Close liaison with the administration and nursing teams led to the design and creation of a system that has been well received by all.  It has resulted in significant improvements in reporting capability and day to day case management which ultimately benefits the service users.


Graham High Group

GHG, along with sister companies BASE and HPC, began working with DCSL Software in 1997.  The remit was to dispense of fragmented data storage tools such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook and develop a comprehensive business management application to consolidate all aspects of their data handling.

The system currently in place manages claim data, associated documentation, timesheets and financial data, complimented by a raft of reports to help the management team stay on top of things.  It has continuously expanded to meet the changing demands of their customers.  We regularly consult to devise ways to overcome new requirements or incorporate the latest technical solutions to add value to their offering.

The latest development sees the integration of our own First Contact telemarketing solution to assist in managing incoming claims on behalf of their client.  This is in response to a shift in their focus, as demonstrates our commitment to working with our clients to overcome new challenges.

Brighton and Hove Integrated Care Service

BICS was created to improve the referral process for GPs and their patients in the Brighton & Hove area.  The service takes over the responsibility for matching patients with the most suitable providers of care, providing patients with more choice and a quicker response than traditional hospital outpatient services.

BICS approached DCSL Software in 2008 to develop a comprehensive workflow application that would replace the fragmented tools they had in place.  Following consultation and planning, a new, web based database system was built to consolidate the process and deliver improvements in data handling, reporting and exception handling. 

The resulting system has provided the team in all areas of the organisation with an easy-to-use, consistent software application that helps them deliver their service effectively.
