Improving customer experiences through well considered database solutions

Consumer Retail & Leisure

The requirement for software systems to help manage customer experience has increased considerably over the past decade, especially with the shift towards online applications.  It provides a new medium through which to communicate with customers, and allows multi-site companies to work more effectively as a single unit.

DCSL Software takes pride in our work in this sector.  The following examples demonstrate how we have been asked to help companies manage their organisations more effectively through well crafted software solutions.

IKEA

We were invited to work with IKEA on the development of a new in-store wedding list application that would be driven through the use of kiosks as well as an online interface.  Full details on our work with IKEA can be seen by visiting our Case Studies page and clicking to download the case study.

Dateline

Our work with Dateline was pioneering, working with the directors to shape the company's growth through the structured implementation of software systems to support the service offered to members.  The system focused on a comprehensive membership management application and supporting workflow, including registration, vetting, a powerful member matching system and letter, email and SMS text generation.  An accompanying telemarketing application was also developed, providing a platform for 70 staff members to handle incoming and outgoing calls from members.

A combination of our foresight into technological advances and Dateline's desire to remain at the cutting edge of dating also saw the development of the World's first 3G mobile two-way video dating service.

Stringfellows

Following a search on Google, Stringfellows embarked on a project with DCSL Software to create a payroll system to manage performers on a day-to-day basis.

We are soon to launch a pioneering, content managed iPhone application for Stringfellows, designed to provide information on the club, the restaurant and dancers.

Leisure Connection

Leisure Connection works with many local authorities around the UK who wish to outsource the management of their leisure facilities.  We have developed two separate applications for Leisure Connection to date;

The first application is a web based solution facilitating the creation of employee contracts.  It is used by around 400 sites across the UK and is configured for various types of staff.  The system uses a 10-step process to capture contextual information about a new employee and their role.  Once submitted by site managers, the record embarks on a sign off procedure via HR and Payroll before the contract documents are created and data exported into the central accounting system.  The system also manages amendments to contracts and ensures new employees adhere to the terms and conditions of employment.

The second application is an online Helpdesk ticketing system that allows leisure centre visitors and staff alike to log issues they find.  Leisure Connection use the system to monitoring progress on the resolution of issues to ensure they adhere to the integrated Service Level Agreements.
